In Taiwan and other subtropical and temperate regions, peony blooming usually occurs from April to June . The length of the peony blooming period varies depending on climatic conditions; under moderate temperatures and ample sunshine, the blooming period can last approximately 2 to 3 weeks .

Peonies thrive in cool climates and are sensitive to high temperatures; therefore, a warm, moderately humid environment in spring is most conducive to flowering. Low temperatures help prolong the flowering period, while excessively high temperatures may shorten the flowering period or even cause premature wilting. Peonies have full blooms in a variety of colors, including white, pink, and deep red. Each flower lasts about 10 to 12 hours and can reach a diameter of 15 centimeters when fully open, making them highly ornamental.
